Carmen Jacobo Iturbide

(Morelia, Mexico, 1966) Painter, ceramist and educator. She studied Visual Arts at the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo in Morelia. Between 2005 and 2015, she taught and coordinated the painting and sculpture workshops for children at the House of Culture of Morelia. She received several state and national awards in painting and sculpture. She was resident artist in landscape intervention at the Festival Arte de la Tierra 2013, at the 8th Internationaler Waldkunstpfad Kunst Transformation in Darmstadt, Germany, and at the O-Huis studio experimenting with Japanese glazes in Seiyo, Japan. Currently, she is the coordinator of ‘Proyecto en Sitio’, a landscape intervention program in Umecuaro, Michoacán, Mexico, oriented towards Land Art and developed as an artistic residency. She also coordinates ceramic stays in collaboration with the VAWA (Vacation with an Artist) platform in her own studio, the Taller-Estudio La Coyotera, where she carries out her production of painting and sculpture.
