Enrique Maraver

(Mexico City, Mexico) Phonographer, engineer, and sound artist. His work is devoted to the practice of listening, perceiving, and appreciating space. Seeking to raise awareness and provoke reflection through sound, he reveals the sonority of places to incite a careful, attentive listening; this informs us of the sound diversity and acoustic gestures around us. He has developed several productions, interventions, and research works focused on the aurality of the environments, exploring and capturing the sonority of different geographical locations. He has collaborated in the development of mathematical and aural matrices at the Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute (CINVESTAV). His work has been published on several labels specializing in soundscapes and field recordings in Spain, Chile, Portugal, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Colombia, and Mexico.
