Danitza Willka

(Pitumarca, Cusco, Peru, 2001) Weaver. She inherited her passion for weaving from her mother Ana and her grandmother Epifania. Willka, in Quechua, translates as 'sacred,' 'granddaughter,' and 'tree.' Despite not finding a university course in Peru that suited her nature as a weaver, she pursued a degree in Food Industries. Weaving, however, is a living force that accompanies her daily life. She is a member of the Andean art collective Noqanchis.
