Patricia Domínguez

(Santiago, Chile, 1984) Artist, educator, and advocate of the living. Bringing together experimental research on ethnobotany, healing practices, and the corporatization of wellness, her work focuses on tracing relationships of labor, affect, obligation, and emancipation among living species in an increasingly corporate cosmos. She holds an MFA in Studio Art from Hunter College (New York, 2013) and a certificate in Botanical and Natural Science Illustration from the New York Botanical Garden (2011). She is currently director of the ethnobotanical platform Studio Vegetalista. She recently received the Symmetry residency award at CERN (Switzerland) and the Alma Observatory (Chile, 2021), and contributed to the book Documents for Contemporary Art Issue HEALTH (MIT Press and WhiteChapel, 2020). Her major projects have been exhibited at the New Museum (New York); Wellcome Collection (London, upcoming 2022); Gwangju Biennale (South Korea); TRANSMEDIALE (Berlin); La Casa Encendida (Madrid); Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza (Madrid); Gasworks (London); MOMENTA | Biennale de l'image (Montreal); Meet Factory (Prague); What is going to happen is not 'the future', but what we are going to do (ARCOMadrid); SEMA (Seoul), among others.
