Jaime Ruiz Martínez

(San Francisco Guichina, Oaxaca, Mexico, 1985) Educator and cultural mediator. He studied design, visual arts, and contemporary thought in Oaxaca. From 2011 to 2015 he was part of the Centro de Diseño de Oaxaca, an institution focused on social and community development projects through the arts and design. He is co-founder of the initiative Lugar Común, a social laboratory to investigate possible forms of community life in urban contexts, which was part of the international Arts Collaboratory network from 2016 to 2018. He has taught in design, art, and communication schools, as well as in non-official and experimental programs. He is currently the head of Public and Educational Programs at the Museo Tamayo Arte Contemporáneo where he promotes relationships between art, pedagogies, and participation.
