Gala Berger

(Villa Gesell, Argentina, 1983) Artist, curator, and researcher based between Lima and Toronto. She is a co-founder of Casa MA (2018-2023), a community committed to the dissemination of creative practices in the territory of Central America. She has been a fellow at ICI Kampala 2022 and RAW Acadèmie CURA #6 in Dakar, 2019. Berger has also worked extensively in Buenos Aires, where she is a co-founder of the Experimental Museum La Ene (2010 - 2020). Since 2022, Berger has been working with policymakers from the Directorate-General for the Environment of the European Commission on a project on agriculture in the Amazon with the Shipibo artist Metsá Rama, which will open to the public in 2024. She has also recently worked on the exchange project between LoCA (Livingstone, Zambia), OCA (Oslo, Norway), and Casa MA, which will open in May 2024 in Livingstone, Zambia. Berger has presented both individual and collective exhibitions in Santo Domingo, São Paulo, Lima, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Buenos Aires, Seoul, Querétaro, Sorocaba, Medellín, Montreal, Tampere, Río de Janeiro, San Juan, San Jose, Guatemala City, Stockholm, Santiago, Rosario, among other places.
