Artur Kon
(São Paulo, Brazil, 1988) Artist and researcher based in São Paulo. Actor and playwright in Cia de Teatro Acidental. Artur attained a master’s degree in Philosophy under prof. Ricardo Fabbrini; his dissertation on contemporary Brazilian theater was published in book form in 2017 (Da teatrocracia: estética e política do teatro paulistano contemporâneo). His PhD thesis, also developed in the Philosophy Department of the University of São Paulo (USP) under prof. Celso Favaretto–with a research internship at the University of Frankfurt, under Christoph Menke–investigates the work of Austrian Nobel Prize-winner Elfriede Jelinek, and includes translations of eleven of her plays into Portuguese. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Theatre Department at USP, under the supervision of prof. Antonio Araújo, on “A comical politics of not-knowing in contemporary Theatre” (Fapesp, processo nº 2021/13778-6).
