Karen Bernedo Morales

(Lima, Peru) Curator and visual anthropologist. She is a graduate in Gender Studies from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP), with a master's degree in visual anthropology. She teaches at the School of Performing Arts of the Universidad Científica del Sur. Some of her recent curatorial projects are Las Primeras, mujeres al encuentro de la historia (Cultural Center of the Universidad del Pacífico, 2018- 2020); Emancipadas y emancipadoras las mujeres de la independencia del Perú (Cultural Center of Spain, 2019); Las Patriotas (Sala Larco 770- Municipality of Miraflores, 2021); Historical Precursors of Equality in the 20th Century (Museo Metropolitano de Lima, 2021); Archivos Impostores para la Recuperación de la Memoria y la Historia de las Mujeres peruanas (Ministry of Culture, 2021). She recently released the documentary film on women and monuments El Patrimonio Invisible (Universidad de Ciencias Aplicadas, 2021). She is co-founder of the collective project Museo Itinerante Arte por la Memoria, recipient of the Prince Claus Fund award (2014), and the National Prize in Art in favor of Human Rights, awarded by various civil society organizations.
