Gian Spina

(São Paulo, Brazil, 1984) Visual artist, writer, and educator. He was part of several residency and exhibition programs, including Capacete–documenta 14 in Athens, Greece (2017), MMAG Foundation Spring Sessions in Amman, Jordan (2018), and GEGENWARTE/PRESENCES in Chemnitz, Germany (2020). He has taught in pedagogical programs and institutions such as the International Academy of Arts in Ramallah (Palestine), Escola da Cidade in São Paulo (Brazil), Ionion Center for Arts and Culture (Greece), and CILAS (Cairo Institute of Liberal Arts and Sciences) in Alexandria (Egypt). He currently lives between Cairo and Beirut, where he continues to develop his research on the materialization of power in the public sphere, coordinates the Arab-Latin American research group, and works toward the collective construction of a school.
