Marianela Díaz Cardozo

(Mérida, Venezuela, 1982) Artist, editor, and translator. Her artistic practice is oriented by an investigation into tactile perception, pleasure, natural matter, and the narratives of experience. Through interactive installations and sensitization proposals, she seeks to incite an empathetic reconnection with nature, otherness, and one's own body, tempting imaginative, evocative, and poetic experiences that counteract the cultural mandate of utilitarianism. She is co-founder and co-director of the artistic and educational platform 'Mollusca: substrate for creation and research,' where she develops an editorial line on eroticism and pleasure from a political and aesthetic perspective. Trained in Social Communication, specializing in Print Media (Universidad del Zulia, Venezuela, 2008), she has worked as a freelance creator, editor, and translator of contents for various media and cultural institutions such as Backroom Caracas, Fundación Motores por la Paz, Instituto de Estudios Avanzados - IDEA, CIRIEC-Venezuela, among others.
