Carmen Huízar

(Colotlan, Jalisco, Mexico, 1995) Artist and co-founder of nohacernada.org. She studied Plastic and Visual Arts at the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Printmaking "La Esmeralda" in Mexico City. She has shown her work in Mexico at Museo Experimental el Eco, Museo Universitario del Chopo, Ex Teresa Arte Actual, Museo de Arte Popular, Fundación Alumnos 47, Museo de Arte de Zapopan, El Colegio Nacional, Editorial Artes de México, and artist-run spaces such as Pandeo, Tepetongo Balneario Crítico, RRD Vicente Guerrero and Biquini Wax. In 2016 and 2019, she won the Jóvenes Creadores PECDA Jalisco scholarship, in the categories of Graphics and Painting. Her book No haga caso de malos mexicanos was published by Gato Negro Ediciones and presented at Aeromoto, Index Art Book Fair at Museo Jumex, Panafrican Space Station at Museo Tamayo.
