Gracia Salazar

(Caracas, Venezuela, 1981) Educator and researcher. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Literature (2003), a Master's degree in History of the Americas (2008), and a PhD candidate in History at the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, where she has worked since 2008 as a professor in various areas. For 10 years, she worked as a teacher in the area of Spanish and Literature with high school students. She is the author of the book Mariano Picón-Salas: El ebanista de la palabra. She was a fellow of the Real Academia Española [Royal Spanish Academy] at the Academia Venezolana de la Lengua [Venezuelan Academy of Language], where she still serves. Since 2015, she has worked as an activist in promoting and defending human rights, currently through the non-governmental organizations Labo Ciudadano, Civilis DDHH, and GobiérnaTec.
