Elizabeth Marín Hernández

(Mérida, Venezuela, 1966) Researcher, curator and professor of Latin American Art and Contemporary Art at the Department of Art History of the Faculty of Humanities and Education of the Universidad de Los Andes (Venezuela). She holds a PhD in Art History from the University of Barcelona (Spain). She has a bachelor’s degree in Literature with a major in Art History and a degree in Education, both from the Universidad de Los Andes. She has published articles in several national and international journals such as Actual investigación, Nikeira, El Ornitorrinco Tachado, Americanía, Faire Mondes, among others. She has participated as a lecturer in various academic and cultural institutions such as the Free University of Brussels (Belgium), Universidad Menéndez Pelayo (Spain), Banco de La República (Colombia), Universidad Central de Venezuela, Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, Seminario Fundación Cisneros (Venezuela), among others. She coordinated the Galería de Arte La Otra Banda, which was part of the Office of Culture and Extension of the Universidad de Los Andes, where she developed an active exhibition program. She was curator and organizer of the MéridaFoto Photography Festival. Currently, she is the coordinator and curator of Espacio Proyecto Libertad, an exhibition and outreach space for contemporary Venezuelan art in the city of Merida.
