Quisqueya Lora

(Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) Historian and researcher. She has a degree in History from the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD). She obtained a Master's degree in Latin American History: Indigenous Worlds at the Pablo de Olavide University (Seville, Spain). She is a Corresponding Member of the Dominican Academy of History. She is currently a professor at the Department of History and Anthropology of the UASD and at the Babeque High School. She is also president of the Taller Público Silvano Lora Foundation. She is co-author of Antología del pensamiento crítico dominicano contemporáneo (with Matías Bosch, CLACSO, 2016). Her research focuses on the history of 19th-century Santo Domingo, with a particular emphasis on slavery, its abolition, and the relations with Haiti.
