Negma Coy
(chi Xot - Comalapa, Chimaltenango, Guatemala, 1980) Mayan Kaqchikel artist and poet, originally from chi Xot in Iximulew, Guatemala. She writes poems, stories and tales in the Kaqchikel Mayan language, in Spanish, and with Mayan glyphs. She teaches backstrap loom weaving lessons. She has participated in art and poetry festivals both nationally and internationally. She currently works communally with different collectives so that the art of the native peoples continues to flourish.
